It is from a very select moment in Panerai’s history; just prior to the commercial beginning as a brand under the Richemont umbrella. Very few appreciate, and are aware of, the stories and facts surrounding the collection of Pre-A watches. The first gen that you have shown is a preA1, with the T-SWISS-T dial (recessed indicies the same shape as the preV 5218 series, but the later Vendome font for PANERAI etc). This dial was only on the preA watches (before the A series of the following year). Exploring Panerai’s History: The Collectible Pre-A Series 1997-1998. Following Vendôme’s (Richemont) acquisition of Officine Panerai Srl in the spring of 1998, Panerai made their debut at SIHH 1998 and also released the A and B .Hi you are looking at an original vintage Panerai 001A in full collectors set. This watch has full box, papers, original strap, original buckle, original tools, etc. great for a vintage watch collector.
